Donald J. Rogers - Founder and Managing Partner
Don is the founder and managing partner of Stride Capital Group. Prior to forming Stride in 2009, Don was a partner and founding team member of SkyBridge Capital, which was formed to develop new hedge funds in exchange for revenue sharing. Don played a significant role in launching SkyBridge’s $330 million first fund and subsequent capital deployment to eight ownership investments in three countries. Don has been an active investor in alternative investment partnerships since 1994 as a co-general partner and co-founder of Rogers Investment Partners LLC. Rogers Investment Partners is a private investment entity created to invest in alternative funds. As CEO of CRA Business Strategies Group, Don led a team that advised both established and emerging asset management firms on effective management and business building. Don graduated from Harvard College in 1992 with honors and received an MBA from Harvard Business School in 1999.
Charles P. Friedberg, CFA - Partner, Chief Investment Officer
Charles is a partner of Stride Capital Group. Charles brings over 17 years of industry experience to the Stride team. Charles, as Managing Director and Portfolio Manager, most recently started a fund-of-funds business for Angelo Gordon & Co. in 2003 that focused on emerging and undiscovered investment managers and grew to $1 billion in assets under management. Prior to that, while working at SEI Investments, Charles, as Director, conceptualized, developed and grew what became SEI's Pension Connect 360 pension management platform that has advised $23 billion in retirement plan assets through December 2010. Previously, Charles was a Senior Vice President and formerly the fifth employee at InvestorForce, helping lead and grow the firm. In addition, he was a key member of the management team responsible for raising over $70 million in strategic capital. Charles began his career as an investment analyst at SEI Investments, leading the development and management of the firm's International Equity funds. Charles studied finance and Japanese at Lehigh University, graduating in 1994 with honors. He is also a Chartered Financial Analyst charterholder.
Mark J. Rubin, Esq. - Partner, Chief Finance and Operations Officer
Mark is a partner of Stride Capital Group. Mark brings over 20 years of industry experience to the Stride team. As Chief of Finance and Operations, Mark is primarily responsible for managing Stride’s finance, operations and infrastructure as well as working with seeded managers to implement best practices. Prior to joining Stride, Mark was COO/CCO for LightBox Capital Management, a New York based quantitative/systematic hedge fund and was responsible for overseeing all non-investment activities. Prior to joining LightBox in 2011, Mark was a day one partner with New Vernon Capital, an emerging market, multi-asset investment partnership. During his seven years at New Vernon, Mark helped grow the firm from its inception to $3 billion, managing and overseeing operations of the firm, as well as contributing to fund management, finance and investor relations. Mark, is an attorney and a CPA, practicing law for three years with Chicago-based Altheimer & Gray focusing on securities and corporate law and prior to that, as a CPA with Arthur Andersen & Co. Mark earned his JD, Magna Cum Laude from the University of Illinois, College of Law in 1993 and a B.S. in Accounting from Indiana University, School of Business in 1988.
